The trip to NeoCon East was one that our team will never forget. The Convention Center in Baltimore, Maryland was a perfect venue for the gathering. The center’s architecture is a mix of glass and steel that creates an exciting place for any fan of design. The bottom floor of the venue, where the event was held, was open and free flowing with vendors scattered about. We enjoyed so many of the exhibits, but there were a few that stood out to us for office design.

In the Open Plans booth, there was a corner desk that was both organic and functional. It is a great solution for those who want more conferencing stations, but maybe do not have the space to place them. They also showcased their newest line of Kevlar paneling, which is bullet proof and ideal for government type offices. AIS showcased some new benching-style desking referred to as the Oxygen line. We love the design of this system because it utilizes all of the surfaces as writing areas with whiteboard tops. This gives those working at these desks the ability to quickly write down notes without having to search for a pen and paper.

9 to 5 Seating also has a great new line of seating called the Cydia Collection. The curved shape of the back makes the chairs have a continuous look that is perfect for both task and conference seating. Chair options include a conferencing arm, task arm, and armless look as well as a high top style seat and recliner style with an ottoman. Nxtwall was a new vendor to Joyce Contact. They offer glass wall solutions for office spaces that are customized to the client’s needs. What we particularly liked about the brand is the many different options it gives to our clients as well as the fact that their product is LEED Certified and sustainable. They use materials such as glass, white board, wood, metal, and even stained glass to give your office endless options for the atmosphere you’re trying to create.

Special T is a familiar vendor we work with to create desking for clients. Recently, high-top tables have become popular in both office and lounge settings, and Special T has created the perfect base for this type of table. They use either a circular or rectangular base that comes in 18″, 24″ or 26″ widths. Special thanks to our friends at Falcon/ Thonet for letting us sit on their multiple configuration lounge seating for our company picture. Not only was the seating comfortable and the reps friendly, but the seating made a great backdrop for a wonderful photo and a great way to end our trip to NeoCon East.

Thank you Dan Joyce, for taking the team on an unforgettable trip!
